A backhoe loader contains: powertrain, loading end, digging end. Each device is designed for a specific type of work. On a typical construction site, the excavator operator usually needs to use all three components to complete the work.
Powertrain
The core structure of backhoe loader is the power assembly. Backhoe loader powertrain design can run freely on various rough terrains. It has a powerful turbocharged diesel engine, large deep-toothed tires and a cab equipped with driving controls (steering wheel, brakes, etc.).
Loader
The loader is assembled at the front of the equipment, and the excavator is assembled at the back. These two components provide completely different functions. The loader can accomplish many different tasks. In many applications, you can think of it as a powerful large dustpan or coffee spoon. It is not generally used for excavation, but mainly for picking up and handling large amounts of loose material. In addition, it can also be used like a plow to push the soil, or used to level the ground, like a knife to spread butter on bread. The operator can control the loader while driving the tractor.
Excavator
Excavator is the main tool of backhoe loader. It can be used to excavate dense, hard material (often soil), or to lift heavy objects (such as sewer culverts). The excavator can lift these materials and then pile them on the side of the hole. Simply put, the excavator is an extremely powerful huge arm or finger, which consists of three parts: the boom, the stick, and the bucket.
Stabilizing feet
Other additional components commonly found on backhoe loaders include two stabilizing feet behind the rear wheels. These feet are essential to the operation of the excavator. When the excavator performs the excavation work, the foot can absorb the impact of the weight. Without the stabilizing feet, the weight of the heavy load or the downward force generated when digging the ground will damage the wheels and tires, and the entire tractor will continue to bounce. The stable foot can keep the tractor stable and reduce the impact force generated by the excavator to a small amount. Stabilizing feet can also secure the tractor from sliding into ditches or caves.
